Who Are We?
We are four students from Faith Builders who are passionate about the homeless situation in America. We believe that we, like many Anabaptists, had a very narrow view of homelessness and the correct responses to it. With the goal of broadening that view, we set out on a mission to learn more. We researched statistics, talked to people who have experienced homelessness, and spent several days on the streets ourselves to better understand the problem of homelessness and how we can respond to it. This brochure is a small window into the things we’ve learned. We hope that through sharing what we’ve experienced and learned other Anabaptists will also come to understand that the problem of homelessness is far more complex than we often think and that they will engage in the difficult conversations need to begin reaching out to the homeless around us. — Keith, Yisrael, Brenda, and Wendy.
